1. Write down actual sizes. A set covering 8–19 mm is sufficient only when your jobs stay within that list. Sixteen pieces may cover 7–22 mm continuously or 8–25 mm with gaps. These are different purchases. Metric and SAE markings identify different opening sizes; a near match is not a substitute for the correct fit.

2. Separate reversal from head movement. A reversing lever changes which direction the ring drives without flipping the whole wrench. A flex-head joint changes the head angle. One feature does not imply the other. An offset can raise your hand away from a surface, but it can also need more space above the fastener.

3. Do not confuse tooth count, return drag and strength. A conventional 72-tooth pitch gives 360° ÷ 72 = 5°; 90 teeth would give 4°. Those are nominal increments, not measured clearance requirements under load. Return drag is the resistance felt on the non-driving stroke. A high tooth count alone establishes neither low drag nor high torque capacity; none of these eight sets has a comparative strength test in this research.

4. Match storage to movement. A rack makes an absent size easy to spot on a bench. A roll adapts to a tool bag. Neither is automatically more durable. Check retention, seams and the folded package size against how you actually carry tools.
